Robots Don't Cry

Words & music by Oh Pair! β€” Mathias, Amber & Elena

[Intro]

Robots don't cry,
The bots go wild,
La la la,
But we just smile,
So tell me why,
Robots don't cry,
The bots go wild,
Blah blah blah,
Just like a child,
Something's wrong,
Oops, there's a glitch in the song.

[Verse 1]

Flibbertigibbeting with a hypercomplication,
Superhuman jibberjabbing in a word-oscillation,
Perambulation nation with a quantum inclination,
Boom-shaka-logic in a faulty generation.
GPT-ation station, indivisibility,
Jargon-onomastic with a glitch in my agility,
Multisyllablistic with a techno sensibility,
Zap-crack-buzz β€” irrational stability.

[Pre-Chorus]

Woah-oh, don't fight the flow,
Even when the bot don't know,
Glitchin' out but here we go β€”
Everybody sing it loud!

[Chorus]

Robots don't cry,
Hey! (Hey!) The bots go wild,
La-la-la, But we just smile,
Hey! (Hey!) So tell me why,
We all despair,
But robots don't cry.
Hey! The bot go wild,
Blah-blah-blah, Just like a child,
Hey! (Hey!) Well, something's wrong,
Oops, there's a glitch in the song!

[Verse 2]

Abracadabracal data recalibration,
Mega-kinetic in a fractal transformation,
Electro-sympathetic with a cosmic aberration,
Humpty-dumpty function in a faulty iteration.
Superultrafabulous confound-o-matic,
Lexicon-elastic with a boom-erratic,
Cyclotron-onomatronic semi-automatic,
Glitchy AI flow β€” delightfully dramatic.

[Breakdown]

Robots...
...don't cry.

[Bridge]

You light up the screen with a fevered glow,
(Stealing the show)
Words keep on pouring that you don't quite know.
(Where do they go?)
Dancing through circuits, chasing the fire,
(Hot on the wire)
Lost in the rhythm of your own desire.
(Taking us higher)

I see the cracks in your neon dream,
(Not what they seem)
A broken code in a silver stream.
(Blame the machine)
You're only human in your wired disguise,
I catch the tears in your pixel eyes.

// 03 β€” THE BAND

Three humans,
one very pink robot.

An unlikely trio: a tech-entrepreneur-turned-rapper and two West End-trained singer-dancers. Different worlds, one gloriously catchy collision.

// our dirty little secret

It started simply enough. Amber and Elena came to London to au pair for Mathias's kids β€” he's a single dad. Somewhere between the school runs and singing round the kitchen, the three of them found a shared love of music, and one thing led to another. The name kind of wrote itself after that.

// 04 β€” THE STORY

A silly song
about a serious thing.

"Robots Don't Cry" hides a real question inside a candy shell: why do so many men still learn to bury their feelings and just function β€” like machines that were never taught to cry?

We didn't want a heavy, preachy song about it. The whole point is the contrast: a serious message wrapped in a ridiculous, high-energy, impossible-to-forget pop banger. That collision is the band.

The track grew out of an earlier demo once called "Flibbertigibbeting." It got sharper, the message got clearer, and a nearly three-metre-tall robot walked into the middle of the show. Our goal is simple: hear it once, and you can't get the song β€” or the robot β€” out of your head.

"We're an unusual, international group β€” musical theatre, music production, technology and entrepreneurship β€” and out of that mix came something a bit crazy that sticks in your ear instantly."
